Family information: Barbara had three sisters, all of whom were active in the suffrage movement ? see Emma Wylie, who was probably one of her sisters.
Additional Information: Barbara joined the WSPU in 1909, and in 1910 worked as an organiser for the WSPU in Glasgow, Scotland. In 1912, she went on a speaking tour for the WSPU across Canada. In 1914, she was injured in a scuffle outside St Andrews Hall in Glasgow, when she was trying to help WSPU leader Emmeline Pankhurst escape from the police. She was also arrested outside His Majesty's Theatre London during a royal visit. A portrait of Barbara Fanny Wylie is in the collections of Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery.
