Additional Information: Violet appears to have shared a residence with fellow Women's Freedom League (WFL) member Muriel Matters in 1911. Both women illegally 'resisted' the 1911 government census at an address at 91 Fentiman Road, Lambeth, London in protest at their exclusion from the vote. The law required everyone to fill in the census form, giving particulars like name, age, marital status, occupation, etc. Violet wrote across her form, 'No Vote, No Census. Should women become persons in the eye of the law this session ? full information will be forwarded.'
