Family information: Sister to suffragette Edith Dorothea Meriet Rock.
Additional Information: Caron (her preferred name) joined the WSPU with her sister Edith Dorothea Meriet Rock in 1908 and, like her sister, was sentenced to one week in prison in 1911 for breaking windows. Caron was imprisoned for two months with hard labour in 1912 in Holloway Prison for more window smashing, as part of a larger window-breaking campaign. She was arrested and charged again in 1914 for assaulting police officers during a scuffle, when she tried to prevent them from rearresting WSPU leader Emmeline Pankhurst in London. The First World War broke out before Caron had to serve any prison time for this offence.
