Family information: Sister to suffragette Madeleine Caron Rock.
Additional Information: Edith joined the WSPU in 1908 with her sister Madeleine Caron Rock. In 1911, Edith was arrested and sentenced to one week in prison for breaking windows at the Board of Trade Office. The following year, she was imprisoned again for window smashing, this time to two months' hard labour. Edith was also a member of the Church League for Women's Suffrage (CLWS) and of the International Women's Franchise Club. During the First World War, likely disappointed by the WSPU's abandonment of the women's suffrage cause, she joined the Independent WSPU (IWSPU) to continue working for the votes for women cause.
