Family information: Mother to suffragettes Emmeline and Nellie Hall. The Hall family were very close to the Pankhurst family. They were also all involved with the Independent Labour Party (ILP).
Additional Information: Martha Alice, better known as 'Pattie' Hall, and her husband Leonard had met and become close with the Pankhurst family through their mutual work for the Independent Labour Party (ILP). Emmeline Pankhurst, leader of the WSPU, was godmother to Pattie's daughter Emmeline (after whom she was named) and Pattie was one of the original six women that formed the WSPU in Manchester in 1903.
