Family information: Formerly known as Dora Spong before her marriage in 1910. Her sister, Florence Spong, was also a suffragette.
Additional Information: Dora joined the WSPU in 1908 and was arrested for 'obstruction' during a deputation to the House of Commons. She was sentenced to one month in prison but was released early due to ill health. She was arrested on other occasions, including during the violent debacle on 'Black Friday' in 1910, but, like many women that day, was released without charge. She took part in the WSPU window-smashing campaign in 1912 and was sent to prison for two months with hard labour.
