Additional Information: Jane was a member of the Kensington Society in 1865 and, as it was involved in organising the 1866 suffrage petition, it is unsuprising that she signed. In 1868?9, she also joined the London NSWS, and then the Manchester NSWS in 1872. Between 1871 and 1874, she toured the country giving lectures on women's suffrage. In 1889, she signed a petition organised to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the signing of the first suffrage petition, and donated money to the Women's Emancipation Union (WEU) in 1892.
Other Suffrage Activities: Aside from teaching and lecturing, Jane was also an artist, exhibiting with the Female Art Institute in 1879. She was also editor for a few art and literary periodicals.
