Family information: Sister-in-law to Clementia (Mentia) Taylor. Caroline's daughter Catherine Osler became a suffrage campiagner.
Additional Information: Caroline signed the 1866 petition in Bridgwater, Somerset, moving to Birmingham shortly afterwards. There she helped set up the Birmingham branch of the NUWSS and sat with her husband William on its executive committee. The NUWSS formed out of a proposal held at a public meeting in Birmingham New Street in 1896. Caroline became its first treasurer and later its president in 1873. She presided over a conference of the NSWS held in Birmingham in 1874, which was chaired by Joseph Chamberlain, then Mayor of Birmingham. Caroline's name appears on a long document sent straight from the conference to Prime Minister Disraeli, asking for his support for women's suffrage. Her daughter Catherine Osler also became a suffrage campaigner.
