Additional Information: As well as signing the 1866 petition, Sarah was also a member of the Manchester Committee for the Enfranchisement of Women, which later became the Manchester NSWS, with her husband, Rev. Steinthal. Her husband seems to have been the more active of the two in the votes for women campaign (see Other Activities).
Other Suffrage Activities: Sarah's husband, Rev. Samuel Steinthal, was treasuer of the Manchester NSWS until 1905. He was on the executive committee of the Central Committee of the NSWS in 1871. Between 1889 and 1891, he was on the executive committee of the Central National Society for Women's Suffrage, and in 1894 supported the Women's Emancipation Union (WEU).
