Additional Information: Mrs Mynie Evans Bell and her husband, Major Thomas Evans Bell, were members of the Central Committee of the National Society for Women's Suffrage (CCNSWS) (1871?2). He was also a member of the LNSWS in 1868.
Other Suffrage Activities: Mynie had tried to turn around her father's business (the Pimlico Slate Company) with no success and so had turned to the stage to earn her living, under the pseudonym 'Mrs Fairfax'. The Evans Bells' daughter was Ernestine Mills (1871?1959). Ernestine was an artist, specialising in enamelware, who produced commemorative items such as brooches, badges and jewellery for the WSPU, which she joined in 1907.
