Additional Information: Ellen signed the 1866 petition and joined the London NSWS in 1867. She joined the Central Committee of the NSWS in 1872 and was still supporting it over a decade later. In 1889 she was a member of the Central National Society for Women's Suffrage, and by 1903 was an executive committee member of the Central Society for Women's Suffrage, and in 1906, its honorary treasurer. Ellen remained in this position until 1909, although the society had by then changed its name to the London Society for Women's Suffrage. That same year, she subscribed briefly to the WSPU, and she became a member of the NUWSS in 1912.

Other Suffrage Activities: Ellen stood as a Poor Law Guardian in 1891 in Marylebone, London. In 1897 she took a seat on the London School Board, focusing her attention on children with disabilities. Upon her death, she donated to many causes but chiefly to institutions supporting women's health and medical education.
