Additional Information: In addition to signing the 1866 petition, Elizabeth Gloyn attended a meeting in 1867 of the Manchester National Society for Women's Suffrage.

Other Suffrage Activities: Women's and girls' education was at the heart of Elizabeth's activities. As well as being principal at a ladies school in Manchester, she was also president of the Manchester Board of Schoolmistresses. In addition, she was a founding member of the North of England Council for Promoting the Higher Education of Women.
